The short version: We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies for payment processing (Stripe), and we use your browser's localStorage — not cookies — to remember your daily check-in streak and skin progress. You are in full control.
01
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They serve various purposes: keeping you logged in, remembering your preferences, enabling payments, or tracking your behaviour across sites.
This policy also covers localStorage and sessionStorage — browser storage mechanisms that work similarly to cookies but stay on your device and are never transmitted to a server.
This policy is written in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
02
Our Approach
We have deliberately built SKINN AI LONDON to minimise our use of cookies and tracking technology. Specifically:
- We use zero advertising cookies.
- We use zero third-party tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Hotjar, or similar).
- We do not use cross-site tracking of any kind.
- We do not build user profiles or sell data to advertisers.
- Our daily check-in and progress features store data locally on your device only — this data never reaches our servers.

Cookies We Use
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__stripe_mid |
Stripe | Fraud prevention and payment security. Set when a payment page loads. Required to process card payments. | 1 year | Essential |
__stripe_sid |
Stripe | Session-based fraud detection. Helps Stripe verify the payment session is consistent. | 30 minutes | Essential |
m |
Stripe | Fraud mitigation. Identifies the browser for Stripe's security model. Set only when you initiate a payment. | 2 years | Essential |
Cloudflare cookies (__cf_bm etc.) |
Cloudflare | Bot detection and DDoS mitigation. Required for site security and performance. | 30 minutes | Essential |
All cookies listed above are strictly necessary or essential — they are required either for payments to function or for basic site security. Under PECR, strictly necessary cookies do not require your prior consent. However, you can still disable them in your browser — note that doing so will prevent payment processing from working.
We set no functional, analytics, or advertising cookies of our own.
04
Local Storage (Not Cookies)
We use your browser's localStorage API to store certain preferences and progress data locally on your device. This is distinct from cookies: localStorage data is never automatically sent to our servers.
| Storage Key | Purpose | Data Stored | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
skinnCheckinStreak |
Daily check-in streak counter | Day count and last check-in date | Your device only |
skinnCheckinHistory |
Daily skin condition log | Daily check-in ratings (e.g. "Great", "Moderate") and tips | Your device only |
skinnLang |
Language preference | Selected language code (e.g. "en", "ar") | Your device only |
skinnCookieConsent |
Remembers your cookie banner response | Boolean: accepted/declined | Your device only |
skinnEmailPopupShown |
Prevents repeat display of email capture popup | Boolean | Your device only |
You can clear all localStorage data at any time via your browser settings (see section 6 below) or by clearing your site data. This will reset your check-in streak and language preference.
05
Third-Party Cookies
The following third-party services may set cookies when you use our site:
| Service | When | Cookie Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | When you initiate a payment | stripe.com/gb/privacy |
| Cloudflare | On every page load (security) | cloudflare.com/privacypolicy |
| Trustpilot widget | If you view the review widget on the analysis page | Trustpilot Privacy |
We have no advertising, social media, or analytics cookies from any third party.
06
Managing & Deleting Cookies
You have full control over cookies and local storage. Here's how to manage them in the most common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari (iOS / macOS): Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
To clear SKINN AI LONDON's localStorage specifically, open your browser's Developer Tools (F12), navigate to Application → Local Storage → skinnai.co.uk, and delete the keys listed above.
Note: Blocking or deleting the Stripe cookies (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) will prevent you from completing payments on our site. All other cookies can be deleted without affecting core site functionality.
You can also use browser extensions like Privacy Badger or uBlock Origin to selectively block cookies. As we use no tracking or advertising cookies, these tools will have minimal effect on our site.
